I received the following query:

I'm assisting a young gentleman who is interested in becoming a member of the N.B. Forrest Camp # 3, Sons of Confederate Veterans in Chattanooga.

His Confederate ancestor is Pvt. William Arnett, 2nd Company K, First CSA Cavalry. This soldier's service record says he was Killed in Action on May 12, 1863 in Linden, TN.

My research shows a battle occurred in Linden on that date. Three Confederate soldiers were killed then. I believe William Arnett may have been one of these soldiers.

Can you tell me where these soldiers are buried? If so, are their graves marked?

Any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Terry Siler, Commander
N.B. Forrest Camp # 3
Sons of Confederate Veterans
Chattanooga, Tenn.
