I am trying to find any information relating to James Selkirk Trammell who I believe was either a pharmacist or MD in Clay county around 1880-90.

My grandfather James Henry Trammell migrated to Australia and I am trying to trace his family

Any help would be appreciated

There is no Trammell in the 1880 or 1900 Clay Co census. The 1890 federal census burned, so cannot check. The Clay Co History Book list doctors who have practiced in the county since the 1850s and no Trammell is listed.

Thank you for your a bit baffled. I will figure out what my next steps should be, once again "Thank you"

I know my grandfather was born in Greenaway or Greenway in Clay county

Best wishes,

No Greenway or variation thereof in this Clay County. Perhaps it was another state? Kentucky, for instance, also has a Clay Co. Sorry the help is negative, but sometimes where not to look is a big help too.
