David Whiteaker & Nancy Lett or Lott

I am looking for information about my 4G Grandfather, David Whiteaker. The last name could have been spelled Whittaker or Whitaker. He was born in 1793 in North Carolina. We believe he married Nancy Lett or Lott from Sparta.

There children included: John (1814-1865), James (1819-1904), David (1820-?) believed he stayed in TN, Samuel (1827-1857), Iven (1831-1836) name pronounced Evan, Anderson (1832-1886).

They may also be the parents of: Elias Lee, Leroy, Jesse & Isabella, Zilla.

David received land in DeKalb Co. Missouri for his service in the War of 1812. He and Nancy moved to MO around 1836 and were among the first settlers of the area. David built a mill for lumber, water & meal. Nancy died in 1847. David then married Rachel Meek.

Family history says that David passed away in 1854 while on a return visit to Tennessee. However, we do not know where he is buried. We also have very little information about his first wife, Nancy & her family. Any information regarding the Lett or Lott family of Sparta, TN (about 1790) would be greatly appreciated. We think Nancy's name may have been Elizabeth as a middle name or first name. We also believe David's middle name may have been Anderson.

Thank you!!! ~ Susan
