Does anyone have a photo of the stone commemorating the grave of George Brown, buried in Stewart Cemetery?
We're researching him, and we'd like to know if this stone might have been erected at the time of his death or if it might have been installed at a later date. Also -- does anyone have a connection to this grave? Or information about the occupant?

George Brown, b. 16 December 1752 – d. 24 March 1842.
The old monument inscription is unique in the “Soldier” proceeds “war”. Rev’l War soldier. Pvt. Militiamen.

We think that perhaps this is the grave of our ancestor, George Brown Senior, but the information on the stone applies to another George Brown, a Veteran of the Revolution who died in Washington County Illinois.

We are happy to share any of our information with other researchers.
