I am trying to find information about the Burrville Rd that went through Coon Hollow back in the 30's. It crossed Bone Camp Creek near where we live. We would like to find history and pictures of this bridge and road. Call 423-628-6293. Thanks.

Contact Kathy Webb @ klwebb@highland.net. She grew up in Coon Hollow and still lives in the area.

The road was called the Sunbright Jamestown Rd. It runs thru my property and the start of the road is now called Gunter Place. It is impassable now due to the pine beetles about 10 yrs ago.

Could he mean the old Mud Pike whose eastern end joined the Coon Hollow Rd. near Bone Camp Creek? As I understand it, the Pike ran south of the Coon Hollow Rd. and headed west toward Glades. During the 1930s and 1940s the Phillips family lived down that road.

Mike,
I was born and half-raised in the Davidson house just a few yards from you.
I remember people walking (or riding horses) between Burrville and Sunbright.
So far as I know, only four wheel drive vehicles could make it through.
