Picketts in Sequatchie Valley, Tennessee

I am searching for more information on the John A. Pickett family that lived in Sequatchie Valley, Tennessee. John A. (Redman) Pickett settled in Sequatchie Valley in the 1820s or so. He was married twice: (1) Perninna Sneed (2) Ruth Griffin. He was supposedly born in North Carolina about 1795 (could be a bit earlier) and died in Marion County in January 1868. He served in the First Seminole Indian War and maybe the War of 1812. Names of siblings may include Anderson, Edward T., Nancy, William, Katherine, James. and Elizabeth. Children by 1st wife: Meredith, Hiram, Allen, Louisa (Lucy?), Joel, Julia, Laura, Elizabeth, Edward D, Melinda, Serena, Julius. Children by 2nd wife: Rebecca, Nancy, Sallie, Jessie, Margaret, Mary, James, John (died in infancy?), Jefferson, Joseph, Pininna. He lived near families named Powell and Easterly. He obtained land patents from North Carolina; some land patents with A.C. Grayson and brothers Anderson and Edward.
Any ideas or records of North Carolina families settling in what is now southeast Tennessee. Sequatrchie and Marion counties are two of main counties in Sequatchie valley and lie just west of Hamilton County (Chattanooga). Thanks in advance for any information.
