The Anderson County Chapter of the Sons of the Revolution is attempting to write biographies of the Revolutionary War Soldiers who lived in Anderson County, Tennessee. We are searching for the family of a Joseph England who applied for pension on 27 February 1833 in Anderson County while living with his son. If you are a descendant of this Joseph, or know anything about his family, please contact us.

In his pension application (S2541) he states:
1) He was born 25 December 1762 in New Kent County, VA;
2) At the time of the Revolution he was living in Surry Co., NC;
3) He served three tours in the North Carolina militia, totaling 19 months of service;
4) He lived in Surry Co., NC for two years after the Revolution and then moved to the Catawba River in Burke Co., NC;
5) He lived in Burke Co., NC until about 1827. By then his wife had died and all his children were married.
6) Since 1827 he has lived with his children. There is no mention of his wife's name nor the names of his children.

In searching the internet for Joseph's family you will find at least four different genealogies which claim a Joseph England in their line is the one who applied for a pension in Anderson County. Unfortunately none of those families match the information given in his pension application.

We would like to know the name of his wife, and his children. Any additional information about his descendants would be appreciated.
