Daniel Robertson b abt 1793, Tennessee

I am looking for my ancestor, Daniel Robertson. He was born in Tennessee in 1793 (according to 1850 and 1860 census records). He married Jane Reynolds bef 1828; their first son Lewis was b abt 1828 in Tennessee and their second son Uriah was b abt 1830 also in Tennessee. I have found a Daniel Robertson in Carter County in the 1830 Census with 1 male under 5 (b aft 1825), 1 male 20-30 (b 1800-1810) and one female b 20-30 (b 1800-1810). Jane Reynolds was b abt 1810 also in Tennessee. Nearby was a Joseph Robertson, possible brother. Other children born in Tennessee are John Warren abt 1832, Susan abt 1834, Benjamin F abt 1836, William G abt 1838, Bennett abt 1839.

I find a matching family group in Barren Co., Kentucky in 1840, and in Hart Co., Kentucky in both 1850 and 1860. Children born in Kentucky are Noah Smith abt 1842, Martha Elizabeth abt 1843, Rufas M M McDaniel (how's that for a name!) abt 1846, Luanna Josephine abt 1848, Charlotte/Carlotta abt 1850, Mary (my great grandmother) abt 1856, Semiramis b abt 1860.

I have found a newspaper article of a Daniel Robertson being murdered in Illinois in 1863, who had a brother Joseph. Other researchers have said it is the same Daniel and for now I'm accepting that since I have no proof to the contrary and the family pretty much disappeared from Kentucky after 1860.

I know this is a long shot but I am at a dead end and trying to look outside the box in an effort to find this family. If anyone has any information they can give me I'd be very appreciative. Even if the Daniel in Carter Co. isn't my ancestor, at least it would be one possibility marked off my list. Thanks.
