Watts Family in 1825

I am researching my family genealogy and have finally (!!) discovered my ggggrandfather's service record from the Civil War. It shows Gibson County, TN as his place of birth. This came as great news to us as we couldn't find anything on him at all - not even family members knew where he came from!

The only Watts family in Gibson County in 1825/26 was Malachi Watts. I know he had a lot of children but do not see my grandfather's name - John Davis Watts listed.

Is there a Watts researcher out there who can help me determine if my John is with the Malachi clan? If not, were there other Watts' in the area that I am simply missing?

This is what I know:

John Davis Watts; B 182526
Married - Francis Jane Clampit in 1848 in Illinois
Recruited in 110th Illinois Infantry, Company B on 11 Sept 1862
Lots of kids with Frances (my gggrandfather is Charles L, their last child born 1871)
Not sure when he died. I am assuming 1872-1800, as he is off the census of 1800 and Frances lists herself as a widow.
I am not sure where he is buried - can't find any records

Any details would be appreciated. Feel free to email me directly if you wish - nwedell516@yahoo.com.

Thank you so much and best regards,
Nancy Wedell
