Picketts in Marion County/Sequatchie Valley

I am researching the John A. (Redman/Redmond) Pickett family in Marion County. John A. Pickett was born ~1792-1795, probably in North Carolina. He came to Sequatchie Valley in the 1820s probably. He married twice: (1) Pininna (various spellings, Pernina, Pinina and so on), probably about 1819 (no information on place or specific date), d. 1840. (2) Ruth Griffith, b. 1822, m. February 1, 1843, d.~1895. John A. Pickett died in 1868 or 1869. He had about 11 children by each of his wives. He was a farmer with a large amount of land (started with land patents from North Carolina, probably). He fought in the first Seminole Indian War (1818), serving as a corporal in Captain R.G. Dunlap's Tennessee Volunteers. He joined this unit from Roane County, TN. I have verification of this from material from the National Archives. John A. Pickett said in an affadavit that he also fought in the War of 1812, but no record of this service has been found.

I am interested in any proofs, records of war service + proof of parentage. Although he supposedly was living in Roane County when he joined Dunlap's volunteers, I had not found any record of him in Roane County. I do know that one of his sisters was married twice in Roane County. Another researcher for this family indicates that she has these marriage records.

My line to John A. Pickett is from son Meredith (b. 1820) and Milly Johnson (first wife, from unverified sources; later Meredith Pickett married Margaret Holland). Meredith's son John, b. 1845 was my great-grandfather; he was married to Martha (Mattie) C. Williams. One of their children is my grandmother (b. 1885, m. 1903, d. 1930).

I am also interested in this family. My g-g-g grandfather, Edward T. Pickett, was brother to John A. Pickett. I have seen mention of a John Pickett Sr. born in 1770 and died in 1830 in Marion Co. TN. I have copies of documents showing that John A. and Edward purchased two slaves from their siblings. The documents suggest the settlement of an estate. Whose?? I haven't been able to identify. I would appreciate any help anyone can provide.
