Hays Family - 10 years ago

I am seeking information relative to the Peter Hays family of Bedford County. Hays lived ca. 1780 to ca 1836. I am descended from a Washington (Wash) Hays (b. ca. 1841. d. ca. 1890), who lived in Rutherford County ca. 1850-1860 but married Malinda Taylor (of Bedford County). After DNA testing, I have found that I'm almost an exact match with Peter Hays, but I do not know the connection between
